#2016RECAP part: 1

Hi Friends!

How are you guys?! I can't believe it's already 2017?! WTF?!
I know this post is somewhat delayed, ehm..... hello! It's Valentine's day tomorrow... 2016 was probably the most eventful year of my life, ever. It's crazy how much your life can change and evolve in just 365 days. I decided to recap 2016 in three posts, otherwise it would just be way too long.

Here is a recap of my 2016:

January: My 2016 started off with me ringing in the New Year with my now ex boyfriend. We went to an awesome burlesque inspired party and were dressed to the nines. In early January we also attended the Disney On Ice show. We were the only ones there without a kid.. hehehe....

At the end of the month my best friend Matilda gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl in the whole, entire world. Little baby girl Loa. I had the privilege of going to visit Matilda, her husband and the new baby in the hospital the day after she was born. I held her in my arms, and brought loads of gifts obviously and a big balloon in the shape of a duck.

This was the pic I posted with L the day after she was born.
Already then my heart was so full of love for this little human.

February: In February my ex boyfriend and I celebrated three months together, we went out to dinner at Wagamama's. They're food is uh-mazing. If you've not been there you need to go!
February was also the month that he moved into a new and bigger apartment, which also resulted in me moving in with him, not full time. But it was a nice getaway sometimes.
Like I mentioned earlier in this post February is the month of Valentine's day, although in my opinion I don't think Valentine's is any more special then any other day. The fact that we need one day to show more appreciation is BS in my opinion, and like many other things it's been commericialised.

But regardless we had a great breakfast at home, a stroll around Old Town with coffee, visiting a museum and then we ended the day with flowers and chocolate (for me) and a nice home cooked meal.

Valentine's day 2016...

March: March was the month where spring finally started to make an appearance. It was also a little bit more eventful. Besides working as usual - I attended the Ellie Goulding concert here in Stockholm. She was incredible! It was K, myself and about 25 000 13-16 year olds. LOL.
March was also the month K turned 29 (I organized a mini surprise party for a couple of his friends). At the end of the month (around easter) we travelled to his homeland (The Netherlands) and I discovered that I have a crazy fear of flying, to the point where I actually had to pop anxiety medication to calm my nerves and put me to sleep (prescribed to me by a doctor). I have flown tons in the past and always loved it, but unfortunately my anxieties have worsened over the years. Treatment isn't always the best either... Unfortunately.

One of my all time favorite bands Kent released tickets to their last show and tour ever! #Sadtimes. My friend Tess managed to get us tickets though! I'd never seen them live before and just knew I had to see them Live! I can't even explain how much I love them and how significant they were during my teen years.

April: In early April (after K and I got back from our trip) we decided to break up. Sometimes things just aren't meant to be. We broke up on our five month anniversary. Initially I was quite upset about it, mostly because I had another failed relationship under my belt, but breakups are a part of life I guess.

I've learned some valuble lessons about myself after dealing with breakups.
I started spending a lot more time with my girl friends again. Some days were really hard, but I did come out a lot stronger and learned to value myself and my other relationships a lot more...
...

To be continued...
This was part one of my #2016RECAP.

Thanks for cheching in. I'll post part two soon.
